Sunrise Photos: Fairbanks, AK, USA (publ. 2024-08-07)

The sunrise time has just moved far enough forward that it is convenient for me to go sunrise hunting before work. We had light clouds yesterday morning (2024-08-06) which made for many good photos. This morning was heavy clouds with some rain, but the clouds were high enough in the sky, and the rain patchy enough, that I was still able to get some good photos.

The photos were all taken with my AW130 camera. Most of the photos were done in Dawn/Dusk mode, but a few were done in Sunset mode or in Portrait mode. No post-processing was done except for resizing.

Here are the photos from Tuesday morning. These photos were taken all from the south side of the airport, either near the runway, or along the Tanana river.

Here are the photos from this morning (Wednesday, 2024-08-07). These photos were mostly taken from the east side of UAF, overlooking the Taku parking lot. One or two were taken near the airport. In some of the photos you can see fuzzy stretches of cloud, where rain is coming down, along with regular clouds. One photo attempts to capture a rainbow I saw behind me, though the colors are dim.

As always, praise and glory be to the Creator of heaven and earth, who put on this beautiful light show. It seems like no two sunrises are quite the same, with so much possible variation in color arrangement and cloud formations, and of course your vantage point.

What glories await those who have a home in the New Jerusalem, with the Lamb as the lamp of it. (Revelation 21:23).
