Stargazing 2024-11-18: Taurus (publ. 2024-11-20)

Last monday evening we had clear skies and I took the boys out to the yard for some play and stargazing. I took out the binoculars and was able to work on a sketch of Taurus, but only for a few minutes. These were my usual 12x60 Skymaster binocs.

I intended to work on the sketch while the boys were playing, to get more done. But Julian came to me with his little red sled and asked me to pull him around the yard. So, I spent about twenty or thirty minutes pulling him along various short paths around the yard. I would pull him up little piles of snow, and then he would shout "wheeeee!" while sliding quickly down the other side, though it was only about a one foot drop. He looked like he was really enjoying himself.

By the time I got back to my sketch it was getting pretty late, and I could only work on the sketch for a few minutes, with it being a work night and all. But somehow it felt like one of my better stargazing sessions.
